Google Pay AKA Tez was launch on September 18, 2017, the early strategy was to have a huge customer base in the early stage by providing rewards and free services. Google pay has partnered with many banks such as HDFC, ICICI, AXIS whenever you make transactions 0.5-1% of the money is earned by google. Recently they also have partnered with Zomato, RedBus, FoodPanda, Box8, Vodafone, BSNL, Gold Vault and many more. They also encourage you to do more transactions by giving offers and rewards. More transaction more money.
Google has an entrepreneur mindset first set they expand their business and then they make a profit from it.
